BREAKING: Smallville Gets a 10th Season

Well, this should make Peter Pixie happy: Variety is reporting that Smallville will indeed return for a 10th year.

On one level, this shouldn't be surprising: during the "Absolute Justice" 2-hour episode, we heard Amanda Waller (Pam Grier) speculate that Clark Kent would be needed for a coming "Apokolips." You know what this means, right? Hunky Pizza Delivery Guy Darkseid!

So what do you think about the 'Ville getting another season? Are you willing to stick around and wait for Clark to fly - or to punch somebody?

It's Another Double-Header Weekend!

Two shows in two days - Peter Pixie & El Secreto worked twice as hard for you this weekend!

First, Peter was live at DrakeCon Saturday afternoon with voice actors Kyle Hebert and Roy Mustang himself, Travis Willingham, to talk about their latest projects and favorite anime experiences and much more! Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, the show was unable to be taped, but we thank everyone who joined us live at the convention!

Then, for Sunday's special pre-Big Game episode, the boys got their own Sugar Momma! Keisha Howard, founder of Sugar Gamers, stopped by to talk about her gaming expertise - and to lay down a challenge! Plus, find out how you can watch El Secreto on your TV! It's double the show and double the laughs this week on HOUR 42!

Say Milk & CHEEEESE!

The man behind indie classic Milk & Cheese and Eisner Award-winning story Beasts of Burden, Evan Dorkin, visits HOUR 42 tonight!

Evan's career spans more than two decades and across a variety of media: he wrote the comic-book adventures of Bill & Ted; episodes of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast; and Evan is the man who introduced Live Wire to the DCU in Superman: The Animated Series. So with a wealth of experiences to draw from, he's sure to give Peter Pixie & El Secreto - and the audience - some more good stories. Also on the show tonight:

  • A review of this weekend's Dallas Comic-Con from The Discriminating Fangirl!
  • Peter looks at the return of Smallville (check out the trailer to Absolute Justice below!)
  • ES reviews the end of Dollhouse
  • The weekly news round-up
  • And YOUR comments and questions at 646-716-4799 - don't forget, you can also e-mail the boys at hourfortytwo@yahoo.com!

So tune in LIVE at 7pm PST (10p EST) for another fun edition of HOUR 42!

Smallville Signs Another Villain

The parade of new characters continues this season on Smallville. Monday, TV Guide reported that the Silver Banshee will make her live-action debut in episode 16, "Escape," and will be played by Odessa Rae, who just did a turn on Leverage.

Like her printed incarnation, the Banshee began her life as Siobhan McDougal, who fell into the underworld after a ritual for her to gain control of her clan went awry. On Smallville, she'll escape to unleash her revenge on a bed and breakfast where Clark (Tom Weiling) and Lois (Erica Durance) just happen to be staying. Cue the hilarity!
