HOUR 42 returns to Anime Fest Wichita!

It's summertime again in Kansas - time for Anime Fest Wichita, and HOUR 42 will be there!

Tune in Saturday at 12:30pm PST (2:30p CST) for another special live show, as Peter Pixie joins us live from Wichita with special guests Travis Willingham and Colleen Clinkenbeard! Both are veterans of Full Metal Alchemist, of course - Travis voiced Roy Mustang, while Colleen did the voice for Rose Thomas and Riza Hawkeye - and they'll be sharing their stories from that series as well as their other works!

Plus, get an update on the AFW proceedings from Peter - including his experience marrying two lucky con-goers! So tune in live for all the fun on another special episode of HOUR 42!

It's Another Double-Header Weekend!

Two shows in two days - Peter Pixie & El Secreto worked twice as hard for you this weekend!

First, Peter was live at DrakeCon Saturday afternoon with voice actors Kyle Hebert and Roy Mustang himself, Travis Willingham, to talk about their latest projects and favorite anime experiences and much more! Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, the show was unable to be taped, but we thank everyone who joined us live at the convention!

Then, for Sunday's special pre-Big Game episode, the boys got their own Sugar Momma! Keisha Howard, founder of Sugar Gamers, stopped by to talk about her gaming expertise - and to lay down a challenge! Plus, find out how you can watch El Secreto on your TV! It's double the show and double the laughs this week on HOUR 42!

Space Battleship Yamato Flies Again!

When it comes to influential anime series, one name that sometimes gets overlooked - at least in the U.S. - is Space Battleship Yamato, aka Star Blazers. In particular, you can see the influence Yamato had on what we call Robotech just from that poster alone.

The series lasted nine years and included five theatrical movies; the first film reportedly did better than Star Wars at the Japanese box office. Last year at Otakon, Noboru Ishiguro, the series' creator and original writer, confirmed that a new, live-action film based on the series was in development, and here's the first trailer, starring singer Takuya Kimura as Susumu Kodai (or Derek Wildstar, as he was known on American broadcasts.)

And check out the movie's official site, even if, uh, Japanese is the only language option.
