El Secreto

Peter Pixie likes the spotlight, but Hour 42's co-host and co-creator El Secreto prefers to work in the shadows. Keeping hours like a Joss Whedon character, ES writes, blogs, dances, sings a mean karaoke and catches his second wind around the time most folks turn into pumpkins.

Ironically, Peter himself is partly responsible for turning a formerly good Catholic boy from Mexico into an all-hours carouser. It was while covering the Rocky Horror Picture Show revival in Wichita that ES encountered the Sequined Superhero; before long ES was a charter member and president of the Justice League of Denton, a cast so deep it had enough members to field two separate casts a week and so cocky it wrote fanfics about itself. He apologizes for that now, honest.

Besides co-hosting HOUR 42 with Peter, ES is a regular contributor to Racialicious.com and maintains his own blog, Arturo Vs. The World. He's a longtime fan of various comics on both sides of the DC/Marvel divide, but is making more time for independent titles, particularly Mark Waid's Irredeemable.
